Heavy Truck Driver II
About the Job:
This position involves driving single-unit two or three-axle heavy trucks, performing pre-trip inspections, keeping mileage and service records, assisting in loading and unloading trucks, and performing unskilled construction and maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive a variety of heavy trucks, including dump trucks and refuse packer trucks.
Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are safe for operation.
Keep accurate records of mileage and service performed on vehicles.
Assist in loading and unloading trucks, using equipment such as loaders and refuse barrels from City beaches and parks.
Perform unskilled construction and maintenance work as assigned.
Requirements:
A valid California Class A or B Driver License.
A valid California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) medical certificate dated within the last two years.
At least 18 months of full-time experience operating vehicles that require a California Class A or B Driver License.
