An exciting opportunity has become available in our Brisbane Workshop for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our growing team. This role would suit an introspective and analytical individual who is task-oriented, and focused on critical and creative problem-solving with a technical mindset. Our workshops are the core of our network, playing a pivotal role and ensuring our vehicles operate safely across Australia.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING?
Routine Maintenance: Conducting regular maintenance checks and servicing. Ensure fleet remains at compliance standards.
Diagnostics: Using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems. This includes reading and interpreting error codes and symptoms.
Repairs: Performing repairs on mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, and suspension systems. This involves replacing faulty parts or components.
Safety Inspections: Conducting safety inspections to ensure that all systems and components meet safety standards and regulations. This includes checking brakes, lights, and other critical systems.
Documentation: Keeping detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
Operational Interaction: Communicating with operational leaders, and occasionally drivers, to ensure work is completed within timelines.
Compliance: Ensuring that all repairs and maintenance work complies with industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and NHVR regulations.
Teamwork: Join a large collaborative and driven team to excel. Support Apprentice’s in their journey by providing training and support while allowing them to be hands on.

Morning Shift on offer | 6:00am - 2:06pm | Generous overtime available
Choose to join the after-hours on-call roster with generous weekly allowances & guarantee call out minimum hours.
Take part in regular training sessions to upskill and learn new practices within the industry

ABOUT YOU:
The successful candidate requires a systematic, patient approach with a strong focus on creativity and technical expertise to ensure high-quality results.
Hold a valid qualification for the repair and maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles (Certificate III in HV Mechanical Technology)
Experience working with Volvo & Kenworth trucks
General freight fleet experience desirable
Excellent time management skills, ability to plan your workload & required parts.
Dedicate commitment to safety & quality assurance policies.
Current HR and forklift licenses (advantageous)
Willingness to travel to various depots within our QLD and NSW network as required.
