Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Helper - Facilities Maintenance - Mineola.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting in work related to maintenance, repair and operation of all NYU Langone Hospital Long Island systems, equipment and facilities maintained by the Engineering Department, and which do not require the higher skill level of others in the Engineering Department such as mechanic, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc. Basic skills will involve assisting with cleaning up after work done by the Department personnel, transporting tools and materials to and from jobs, assisting personnel in the Department with more complicated repairs and performing lower skilled work.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assigned
Cleaning, painting and general organization of all mechanical, electrical and Engineering spaces
Assists all department personnel in the performance of their assigned work responsibilities
Clean-up of work sites during work and at completion
Demonstrates proficiency and skill in working with an assortment of tools, equipment and materials.
Snow removal as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or GED. 2 years prior experience as a maintenance mechanic, helper or general construction industry work or equivalent trade experience (e.g, helper or laborer in electrical, plumbing, carpentry repair or general construction work). Trade or vocational school graduation shall reduce previous requirement to 1 year work experience.
Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), interpersonal, and organization skills. Must also be able to meet all of the demands of this position, with no physical impairments or impediments. Must be familiar with the proper operation and maintenance of power and hand tools.
Required Licenses: NY State Driver's License
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $59,440.20 - $59,440.20 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
