Job Description:
- Responsible for reviewing, negotiating and closing commercial contracts eg non-disclosure agreements, partnership agreements, RFPs, software license agreements, etc.
- Advise relevant internal stakeholders on their queries wrt contractual terms such as renewals/extensions, project timelines etc.
- Occasional dealings in contentious work eg liquidated damages and/or debt recovery, but also pro-actively advising on ways to reduce potential risk exposure to litigation.
- Manage legal technology platform to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the legal department; Stay updated on new feature releases and assess their applicability.
Provide training and support to other internal stakeholders in the use of legal tech platform.
- Continuously maintain and improve contract database.
- Handle other legal tasks and perform ad hoc legal research assigned by the Regional Legal Counsel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in law with demonstrated excellent academic performance.
- 1-3 years of experience as a transactional attorney, preferably with prior in-house experience.
- Strong knowledge of basic principles of contract drafting, review and negotiation with an ability to provide practical and well-reasoned solutions.
- Good interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration
- A strong self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-moving environment.
- Responsive and follows through on commitments.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English (both written and oral).
- Proficiency in using MS office and legal tech platforms
