Department: - Enterprise Technology – Group Finance
The GCB5 Consultant Specialist (CS) role is based within the Infrastructure Services area of Global Finance IT, involved in development & support, supporting database, & services across the sector.
The role of the environment specialist is to work within the GFIT Delivery team, maintaining Dev, Test, UAT and production databases owned by Global Finance. The role will include development, maintenance, out of hours’ production support, and some flexibility of working hours from time to time. The successful candidate will also get involved in application support activities following the relevant training.
As the role is within a global team the role involves working with several teams in different locations, and on a wide portfolio of projects. This is a dynamic environment where demands and priorities shift regularly. The role will include direct contact with business colleagues, as well as IT colleagues on project teams.
In this role, you will:
• You will be working in product development, testing & Production support as per the project requirements.
• You may need to work on UK shifts and occasionally on weekends as per project needs.
• As part of Production support, you need to be understanding and solving the issues or alteast need to be vigilant in escalating the ticket within the timelines if not able to solve the ticket or required another team’s help.
• Should be able to identify the bottlenecks of the process and automate them wherever feasible.
• Should be able to proactively identify and resolve the issues wherever required.
• Participating in product upgrades. You need to take end to end responsibility for any issue or task.
• You will need to be SME in the project and need to guide the Juniors to be good at their deliveries.
• Proactive performance monitoring and tuning
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Strong hands-on experience in Hyperion Financial management (HFM),) IT Infrastructure architecture design and implementation.
• Good Knowledge of Microsoft Windows administration, Active Directory concepts.
• Knowledge of Oracle & RDBMS, SQL concepts.
• Expertise in PowerShell/Batch/VB scripting.
• Good Knowledge on Oracle Financial Data Management Enterprise Edition (FDMEE), Control M or other scheduling tools, Oracle/SQl Database tunings and troubleshooting, performance monitoring/Performance Testing and tools is preferred, Devops tooling like G3, Ci/CD pipeline is preferred, Performance Tuning, Incident Management/Change Management/Problem Management, DevOps tooling and Agile concepts.
• Having knowledge of performance like App dynamics and Log analysis tools like Splunk is preferred, Unix is added advantage.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way
• Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals. Supported project teams/managers, showing an understanding of the basic principles of project management
