Job Overview
We have an amazing opportunity for an HGV Workshop Technician to join our client's team based near Glastonbury. The role ensures the company fleet is effectively serviced and repaired in a cost-effective and timely manner within company and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
• Ensuring vehicles are repaired and maintained in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Preparing and presenting vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections.
• Diagnosing vehicle-related defects using available diagnostic equipment and arranging for relevant action to be taken.
• Liaising with vehicle manufacturers regarding the acquisition of parts and replacement vehicles, keeping key colleagues informed of progress where necessary.
• Ensuring high levels of safety and cleanliness at all times and that required housekeeping duties meet required standards.
• Updating and maintaining appropriate records and ensuring all relevant information is shared with relevant departments on a timely basis.
Working Hours:
• Full-time, permanent basis.
• Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00 (week 1) and 14:00 - 22:00 (week 2) on a rotating shift.
Qualifications:
• Qualified to Level 3 or equivalent in HGV/LGV maintenance and repair.
• Experienced in using transport repair tools and associated software.
• Experienced in following established procedures and problem-solving and/or making sound judgments where not all information is available.
• Ability to compile, analyse, and interpret relevant data.
• Ability to use initiative and organize work so that key tasks can be completed fully and on time.
• Ability to work to fluid targets and deadlines.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven arithmetic skills.
