Job Summary

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Senior Jewellery Designer with 4+ years of experience in the luxury gems and jewellery industry. The role requires a strong balance of creativity, technical knowledge, client collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork. The candidate will play a key role in designing unique high-jewellery pieces, contributing to seasonal collections, and supporting client-centric customisation projects while collaborating with internal teams and artisans.

Key Responsibilities

• High Jewellery Design & Creative Development

• Create original designs with a focus on exceptional craftsmanship, gemstone quality, and timeless aesthetics.

• Interpret design briefs and brand ethos into collectible, refined jewellery pieces.

• Develop sketches (hand and digital using Procreate/Adobe Suite) aligned with the brand’s identity.

• Stay updated on global jewellery trends, heritage influences, and gemstone innovations.

• Collection Development & Contribution

• Support the conceptualisation and design of seasonal and capsule jewellery collections.

• Develop signature design elements that reflect brand storytelling.

• Prepare design presentations and mood boards for internal reviews and launches.

• Client-Centric Customisation

• Work on bespoke requests by understanding client preferences and lifestyle.

• Assist in client consultations and presentations for design approvals.

• Ensure final custom designs meet luxury market standards and client expectations.

• Technical Development & CAD Collaboration

• Collaborate with CAD designers and artisans to translate sketches into accurate, manufacturable designs.

• Review CAD/3D outputs for dimensions, comfort, durability, and setting accuracy.

• Provide inputs for resolving structural or setting challenges.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with merchandising, sourcing, marketing, and production teams for smooth execution of collections.

• Partner with gem sourcing teams to select appropriate stones.

• Liaise with manufacturing to ensure quality finishing and feasibility.

• Design Archiving & Brand Alignment

• Maintain an organised archive of designs, sketches, prototypes, and final pieces.

• Ensure designs are aligned with the brand’s creative DNA: rarity, precision, and elegance.

• Quality & Aesthetic Review

• Review prototypes and final pieces for symmetry, proportions, and finishing.

• Provide creative feedback during setting, polishing, and finishing stages.

• Merchandising & Inventory Support (Adapted from Senior Role)

• Assist in maintaining the design studio’s inventory of samples, prototypes, and gemstone assets.

• Support merchandising by tracking design performance and suggesting design re-editions or updates.

• Ensure documentation of pieces (tagging, certification, photography) for records.

Essential Skills

• Strong hand-sketching and digital design skills.

• Proficiency in CAD tools (Rhino, Matrix, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite.

• Solid understanding of jewellery construction, gemstone quality, and setting techniques.

• Ability to balance creativity with technical feasibility.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and cross-team interaction.

• Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and timelines.

• Exposure to luxury / fine jewellery client servicing preferred.

• Portfolio showcasing original jewellery creations (mandatory).
