Responsibilities
As a Senior MS SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality technical solutions that meet the needs of our clients
Deploying MS SQL servers in highly available configurations via multiple SQL nodes
Setting up MS SQL Always On Availability Groups with multiple SQL server synchronization
Deploying HA/AOAG stretched over a metro style clustering for disaster recovery support
Performance tuning DB and server connections
Upgrading DB to newer versioning via best practices
Working with MS SQL Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
Securing Windows, MS SQL, and DBs per DoD guidance in RMF accredited environments
Patching servers and MS SQL installation during non-peak hours
Administering MS SQL Reporting Services and Power BI instances
Collaborating with the backup team to ensure user and system DBs have appropriate backups
Assisting the CND team in providing log review for threat incidents
Managing other SQL versions, including MySQL and PostgreSQL (PSQL)
Performing software upgrades, patch installs, firmware upgrades
Diagnosing and troubleshooting problems related to the OS, hardware, network, and related software
