Job Description

Hillcrest Kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions, Monday to Friday, catering for up to 30 tamariki aged two to six years. The kindergarten is staffed by four kaiako and a part-time administrator.

Our programme has a strong focus on sustainability and cultural competence, ensuring tamariki engage in learning that demonstrates respect for the environment and celebrates the diverse identities within our community. As Kaiako Matua / Head Teacher, you will provide educational and professional leadership, guiding the team through change and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning. You will foster a collaborative team culture, strengthen partnerships with whānau and the wider community, and ensure effective systems and compliance are in place.

Requirements

Recognised NZ ECE qualification (minimum Dip Teaching ECE)
Current practicing certificate
Current first aid certificate
Current Child Protection certificate
This position is covered by the KindergartenTeachers, Head Teachers and Senior Teachers Collective Agreement 2023–2026.
