This position is remote work and telework eligible consistent with the Agency’s telework and remote work program policy.
This position is located in the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Communications and Outreach (OCO), Digital Media & Creative Services Division. The OCO Digital Media & Creative Services Division plans, develops and executes digital engagement strategies to support the communication goals and objectives of the Department of Education.

As a Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210-14, you will be responsible for:
• Providing technical development support for the information being maintained in the organization's content management systems.
• Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to conduct research and understand user's needs.
• Ensuring the integration of Information Technology programs and services; and develops solutions to integrations/interoperability issues.
• Designing, developing, and managing systems that meet current and future business requirements and apply and extend or optimize the existing architecture.
• Articulating the technical and practical implications and limits of policy recommendations.
• Updating policy and procedures documents and style guide on the web and regularly providing expert advice to leadership, team members, and agency stakeholders.
• Guiding development, user experience, and ongoing maintenance of ED.gov and the systems that support it.
• Performing the execution of visual refreshes on ED.gov, set priorities for improvements, reviews and comments on deliverables submitted by supporting contractor teams.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements
You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-14, if you possess the specialize experience, education, or a combination of the two.
Specialized Experience for the GS-14
One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-13performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:
1. Experience in utilizing content management systems to create pages, views and blocks, custom modules, or configurations.
2. Experience in managing interactive web content and tools for engaging the public and advancing the agency’s mission.
3. Experience in designing websites for desktops, mobile devices and tablet devices that meet current and future business requirements.
Basic Experience Requirements
You must possess IT related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (e.g., IT certification), as appropriate) demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

1. Skill in applying systems analysis principles, and techniques, sufficient to assess new systems design, accurately represent customer requirements and present recommendations for adoption of new methodologies and lead implementations.
