Dr. Lal Path Labs, a renowned diagnostic and healthcare provider in New Delhi, Delhi, is seeking a skilled Histopathology Lab Technician to join our dedicated team. The role involves performing essential tasks in the preparation and analysis of histological samples, including tissue embedding, microtomy, staining, and grossing. As a key part of our histopathology lab, you will contribute to the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients by delivering precise and timely results.
At Dr. Lal Path Labs, we pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of laboratory practices, and the Histopathology Lab Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring these standards are met. The ideal candidate should be familiar with cutting histo sections on a microtome, performing H&E and special staining, and understanding IQC, EQAS, and immunohistochemistry. Additionally, adherence to health and safety regulations and the ability to process samples according to SOPs within TAT and OTR is essential.
Responsibilities:
• Tissue Processing: Perform tissue embedding, microtomy, and staining (H&E and special) according to established protocols.
• Sample Handling: Handle and process histological samples in line with SOPs and ensure timely reporting (TAT and OTR).
• Laboratory Testing: Assist in performing laboratory tests and preparing histological slides for microscopic examination.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support to pathologists and other lab staff in grossing and writing results.
• Quality Control: Implement and monitor IQC (Internal Quality Control) and participate in EQAS (External Quality Assurance Schemes).
• Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations while working in the lab to ensure a safe work environment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes and staining machines, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
• Immunohistochemistry: Perform immunohistochemistry procedures as required, ensuring accuracy and precision.
• Documentation: Accurately document all laboratory activities and maintain records as per regulatory requirements.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest developments in histopathology and participate in ongoing training and development programs.
Requirements:
• Educational Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) with a focus on Histopathology.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in tissue embedding, microtomy, and staining techniques (H&E and special stains).
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience working in a histopathology lab, preferably at Dr. Lal Path Labs or a similar setting.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of IQC, EQAS, and immunohistochemistry procedures.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in processing and analyzing samples.
• Health & Safety: Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to laboratory work.
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and superiors.
