Inviting applications for the role of HIVE Developer.

Responsibilities:

As a Hive developer, you will be primarily responsible for the following:
• Develop/update/test Scala and Spark SQL code per client requirement
• Optimize/Test HQL to reduce script failures and reduce script run times
• Conduct investigation of data issues by connecting Hive schema and resolve data/code issues within fixed timeline
• Convert existing Hive and SQL code to PySpark
• Collaborate with IT and Business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions.
• Perform complex coding/testing to written technical specifications.
• Test the resulting coding components in accordance with company standards and as defined in approved testing plans.
• Investigate, analyze and document reported defects – raising issues as appropriate.
• Analyze run time profiles to debug errors that may exist.
• Solve complex defects that arise through own work or the work of others
• Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and/or its equivalent
• Must have experience with Hadoop eco-system.
• Ability to design solutions with appropriate Hadoop components.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance issues and perform query tuning.
• Knowledge of complex software and information technology solutions and ability to apply to client needs
• Experience in business process definition, requirements definition and technology solution research
• Experience with definition and design specification
• Experience working with Agile Methodology
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Preferred qualifications
• Knowledge of different data ingestions into Hadoop, like Sqoop, DistCp
• Experience in building data processing workflows using shell scripting
• Experience in different processing frameworks - Map Reduce and Spark
• Experience in data transformation technologies in Hadoop like java map reduce, Hive, Pig
• Experience in performance tuning\testing of Hive and Map Reduce.
• Knowledge of different file formats like Avro, Parquet, JSON etc.
• Shell scripting in UNIX , Autosys scheduler scripting
• Exposure to cloud architecture and design patterns
• Ability to generate, understand the output of SQL Explain Plan
• Experience working with Agile Methodology
• Good experience with code reviews
• Experience with SQL data stores for fast web access like Impala
• Experience with writing complex Oracle SQL, Stored Procedure & Packages.
• Excellent team player with good organizational, communicational, analytical and logical skills.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written communication skills
• Ability to understand end-audience needs and requirements

Shift Timings: 12:30PM to +:30PM/1:30PM to 10:30PM IST
