Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Home Improvement Technician to join our team. This role involves performing a wide range of renovation, repair, and installation projects across residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, carpentry, and various trade skills. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that enhance property value and functionality while utilizing a broad skill set in construction and remodeling.
Responsibilities
Execute home improvement tasks including framing, drywall installation, painting, flooring, tile laying, and cabinetry.
Perform plumbing and electrical work as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately complete projects.
Operate power tools, hand tools, heavy equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
Install fixtures such as doors, windows, cabinets, glass panels, and hardware.
Conduct restoration work including stucco application, plastering, masonry, and concrete finishing.
Manage construction site safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Collaborate with project managers to estimate costs using construction estimating techniques and ensure project timelines are met.
Inspect completed work for quality assurance and adherence to specifications.
Assist in the operation of heavy equipment when necessary for site preparation or material handling.
Skills
Strong knowledge of construction management principles and site supervision.
Experience with construction estimating to accurately assess project costs.
Skilled in construction inspection to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Expertise in plumbing, electrical systems, roofing, masonry, carpentry (including trim carpentry), framing, drywall installation, flooring (including tile laying), concrete forming and finishing.
Ability to operate power tools such as saws, drills, grinders; hand tools; fabrication equipment; heavy machinery; scaffolding; and glass installation tools.
Familiarity with schematics for electrical or plumbing systems.
Experience in restoration projects involving plastering, stucco application, caulking, fixture installation, hardscape development, welding, remodeling tasks.
Knowledge of blueprint reading for accurate project execution across various trades. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about home improvement projects who possess a versatile skill set in construction trades. Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, safety consciousness, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team on diverse renovation tasks.
