For over 45 years Loftex has continued it’s focus, priding ourselves on delivering design led innovation, fibre technology and quality Beach and Bath towels into the worldwide homewares market. With offices in Sydney and New York, our design teams liase directly with our vertical milling factory based in China to offer quality product, service, design innovation in turn building strong partner relationships with our retail clients.In Sydney we have close knit team who work collaboratively within a design led environment. We work in an airy open plan modern office space - with a friendly and inclusive team.We are seeking an inhouse creative Graphic and Textile designer who will work collaboratively with the design team to develop innovative trend led Bath/Beach programs for the Australian market,
THE ROLE:
Role 3 Days Part Time (must be consecutive days)In house - Location - Macquarie Park
Please note:

Only applicants that submit a visual portfolio (4 pages) with resume will be considered
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Fashion/ Textiles or equivalent tertiary design qualification.
4+ years of experience in the design industry- preferably in Fashion or Homewares product design categories at commercial level.
Mid weight designer with strong textile print experince a must.
Knowledge of repeat colour seperation and yardage developments a must
Knowledge of print technology screen/ digital/ sublimation a bonus.
Adobe Creative Suite-full competence in Illustrator/ Photoshop CS.
Packaging concepts/ font usage
Knowledge of repeat pattern CAD design
Previous experience of creating designs to technical brief led by consumer insights
Clear and confident communicator (written/ verbal)
A plus to skill set:
Ability to create digital assets including but not limited to digital and social advertising and UX web design.
Solid understanding weave technology.
Skill sets required:
Strong commercial awareness of trends and tracking global zeitgeists into consumer focus with homewares. Passion for textile design, packaging trends.
Strong commercial palette awareness and general love of colour.
Open to receiving feedback and working collaboratively – to provide focus product proposals – speed to market solutions.
Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills. Timeline focused and ability to adhere to seasonal deadlines
Ability to compile and edit seasonal range boards.
DAY TO DAY ROLE:
Reporting directly to the Head of Design and Sales and to the wider Senior Design team you will actively be part of the team creating submissions and design development to meet specific briefs and technical requirements. Creating innovative designs for Bath and Beach towel programs based on retail research online, accessing trends subscription forecasting and instore comp shopping.
Receiving 1st protos samples – checking quality/signing of programs for bulk production. (in-house training will support).
Creating seasonal range boards and presentations.
Design development/ creating innovative product, both bath and beach focused, based on research.
Proposing packing/ branding “solutions” for VM of product instore.
Creating packaging specs – based on Brand style guides- adhering to all requirements.
