DEEJOS is excited to invite a passionate and skilled Horticulturist to join our dynamic team at our new headquarters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a major horticultural initiative, as we plan to install 10,000 plants in our office. Your expertise in plant biology, soil science, pest management, and landscape design will be crucial in creating and maintaining a vibrant and sustainable green environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Cultivation:
Propagate, plant, and cultivate a wide range of plants, flowers, and trees.
Manage planting schedules and environments to ensure optimal growth and health of plants.
Soil Management:
Perform soil tests to determine nutrient levels and pH.
Implement and oversee soil amendment and fertilization programs.
Pest and Disease Management:
Regularly inspect plants for pests and diseases.
Develop and implement integrated pest management strategies.
Landscape Design:
Assist in the design and. planning of office landscapes and green spaces.
Select and arrange plants for both aesthetic and environmental benefits.
Water Management:
Develop and maintain efficient irrigation and watering systems.
Monitor water usage to ensure effective conservation and plant health.
Research and Development:
Stay updated with the latest horticultural research and advancements.
Conduct experiments to improve plant cultivation and variety.
Propagation:
Employ various propagation methods like seed germination, cuttings, and grafting.
Oversee the maintenance of a nursery for plant propagation.
Education and Outreach:
Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for staff and the community.
Engage in public interactions, offering horticultural advice and support.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of plant care, pest management, and cultivation techniques.
Prepare reports and provide recommendations for horticultural improvements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with landscape architects, gardeners, and other professionals.
Participate in team-based landscape or horticultural projects.
Qualification:
Bachelors degree in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
Proven experience in horticulture or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, and integrated pest management.
Experience in landscape design and water management.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment,
