Key Responsibilities:
• Clinical Research Coordination: As a Hospital Clinical Research Specialist, you will coordinate and manage clinical trials from inception to completion. This includes developing study protocols, obtaining necessary approvals, and ensuring the seamless integration of research activities into the hospital's daily operations.
• Patient Recruitment and Consent: You will be responsible for recruiting and enrolling eligible patients into clinical research studies. This includes obtaining informed consent, ensuring patients understand the research process, and maintaining accurate records of patient participation.
• Data Collection and Management: The Hospital Clinical Research Specialist will collect, organize, and manage research data in compliance with regulatory requirements. This involves using electronic data capture systems, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring that all data is accurately documented and stored.
• Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: You will ensure that all clinical research activities adhere to regulatory guidelines, ethical standards, and hospital policies. This includes submitting necessary documents to Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), managing study audits, and ensuring that research practices meet Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
• Collaboration and Communication: As a key member of the research team, you will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate research into patient care. You will also communicate study updates, findings, and any issues that arise to stakeholders, including patients, sponsors, and regulatory bodies.
• Monitoring and Reporting: The Hospital Clinical Research Specialist will monitor ongoing studies to ensure they are conducted according to protocol and schedule. You will prepare and submit progress reports, study amendments, and final reports as required by sponsors and regulatory agencies.
• Training and Development: You will be responsible for training hospital staff on research protocols and procedures, ensuring they understand their roles in clinical research. Additionally, you will stay updated on the latest developments in clinical research and apply new knowledge to enhance the hospital's research capabilities.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Nursing, Medicine, Biology) is required; a Master's degree in Clinical Research or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in clinical research, with a focus on hospital-based studies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical trial processes, including patient recruitment, data management, and regulatory requirements.
• Certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) or Clinical Research Professional (CRP) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in electronic data capture systems and other research-related software.
