Are you a finance professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for the hospitality industry? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hotel Accountant to join our Finance team at Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport. Reporting to the Portfolio Director of Finance, this role plays a key part in supporting the financial operations of the hotel and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls across all areas of Finance.

As Hotel Accountant, you’ll oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities, while also providing valuable financial insights to support management decision-making. You’ll work closely with department managers, lead financial reporting, and ensure compliance with statutory obligations. This is a hands-on role with exposure to all aspects of hotel finance.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee payroll processes, liaising with outsourced providers and ensuring Award compliance

Manage accounts payable and receivable, including reconciliations and credit control

Supervise cashiering reconciliations and ensure accuracy of daily financial transactions

Lead monthly balance sheet reviews, taxation reporting (BAS, PAYG, IAS, Payroll Tax), and management reporting packs

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and capital expenditure planning

Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to support profitability

Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and statutory regulations

Support and mentor the Junior Hotel Accountant

Collaborate with hotel leadership and department heads to provide financial guidance

What we’re looking for:

Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA qualification desirable)

Previous accounting experience, ideally within hotels/hospitality or a similar service-based industry

Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, payroll, and tax obligations

Advanced skills in Excel and accounting systems (Opera, Tyalls, Futurelog, ApprovalMax, or similar experience highly regarded)

High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to meet deadlines

A proactive communicator who can partner with stakeholders across the hotel

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
