Job Title: Hotel General Manager
Job Purpose:
As a Hotel General Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring a high standard of customer service, maximising profitability, and enhancing the overall guest experience. You will oversee the hotel's staff, facilities, and services, striving to create a positive and productive work environment while maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness, all while adhering to the hotel's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Organising and overseeing the daily operations of the hotel
2. Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, by providing excellent customer service and addressing guest complaints in a timely and professional manner
3. Creating and implementing policies and procedures for the hotel
4. Managing the hotel's budget, including financial planning and forecasting, payroll, and cost control
5. Managing and motivating hotel staff
6. Developing and implementing marketing and promotional strategies to maximise revenue
7. Maintaining high levels of hygiene, safety, and security for guests, staff, and hotel facilities
8. Conducting inspections of hotel facilities to maintain quality and cleanliness
9. Maintaining effective relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure a steady supply of goods and services
10. Staying abreast of industry trends, market changes, and best practices in the hospitality industry
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management
2. Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager or in a similar role
3. Strong leadership and motivational skills
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Strong financial acumen, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
7. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
8. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
9. Knowledge of hotel management software, such as Opera, Marriott, or Hilton
