Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our Maintenance Team. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. Shift work spread across 7 days. Report to the Maintenance Supervisor. Experience in the service apartment industry would be beneficial. Excellent customer skills.
Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.
Responsibilities
• Completing minor repair work, which includes repairing doors, locks, door frames and handles as well as replacing light bulbs, sockets, switches and window glass.
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues that may require immediate attention.
• Install appliances and equipment.
• Do garden/yard collecting trash etc.
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g., ventilation)
• Check functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm)
• Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations.
• Report to a maintenance supervisor for issues that need further follow up/investigation.
• Taking inventory of maintenance supplies and notifying Supervisor of low and depleted supplies.
• Deal with plumbing related issues which include unclogging drains and fixing leaking taps and toilets.
• Painting and decorating skills, masking and grouting.
• Promptly responding to requests for emergency repairs and clean-ups.
Requirements
• Sound knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical wiring.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Strong problem skills.
• Excellent time management skills
• Effective communication skills.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Excellent customer care skills.
• Team player.
• Proven general maintenance experience.
• Sound Health and Safety awareness.

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
