Hourly teacher - Early Childhood Education Program

The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course OBSERVING CHILDREN (322-114-LA).

By the end of the course, students will know enough about the observation process and the qualities of relevant observation to be able to observe a child or a group of children in a variety of contexts, and to situate themselves as observers. Students will have reference points for observing verbal and non-verbal behaviours. They will be able to record their observations appropriately, and to establish connections between their observations and domains of development.

Required Qualifications :

Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years of teaching experience, or a DEC in Early Childhood Education or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a daycare setting. Teaching experience in Early Childhood Education or a related program such as Child Studies, Child Development, Special Education, or Social Work is an asset. This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required. Teaching experience with an adult clientele is strongly recommended.

This course is taught in English. The selected incumbent will be required to work in English.
