HI Vancouver Jericho Beach
Come spend your summer at the beach! HI Vancouver Jericho Beach is a seasonal hostel, open from May to September, and located a few minutes away from beautiful parkland near forest trails and seaside paths on Vancouver's Westside. We’re the perfect location if you want to spend your summer outdoors and yet downtown is still only 20 minutes away!
Teamwork makes the dream work and staff have lots of opportunities to interact with guests in a casual, flexible workplace. Working at HI-VJB is a great way to meet new friends and experience Vancouver. You're welcome to borrow bikes and other sporting goods (tennis racquets for the free nearby courts or get a game of bocce ball or volleyball going!)

What you will be doing as Housekeeper/ Breakfast Attendant
Work as a team to maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness of the hostel.
Ensure all common areas, washrooms, showers and hallways are cleaned to our standard.
Follow the hostel cleaning schedule.
Communicate regularly with the Housekeeping Supervisor
Perform laundry duties such as collecting linens and towels, washing, folding, and putting them away.
Serve breakfast to guests (all food is pre-prepared—just set up and restock as needed).
Take inventory of breakfast items.
Keep the breakfast area clean and organized, including doing dishes and wiping down tables and counters.
Bring a positive attitude and contribute to a friendly, welcoming environment!
What we look for
Prior housekeeping experience is an asset
Proficient multi-tasking abilities
The ability to work well independently and as a team member
Ability to carry loads of linen up and down the stairs
Must have or be open to obtaining Food Safe Level 1 (we’ll reimburse you after your probation period with a valid receipt)
You’ll need to be in a state of fitness that allows you to spend 6-7 hours on your feet every day.
You’ll need to enjoy working as part of a team and bringing your positive energy and humor to work every day. Forget about employee of the month, we reward the most FUN employee.
You’ll need to take pride in whatever you do. Our Housekeeping department has one of the most important tasks in our hostel, and we need teammates who understand that, and are keen to be part of delivering a great experience to our guests every day. Your attention to details will be the foundation of all this.

As part of our standard hiring procedure, successful candidates will be subject to comprehensive background checks. These checks may include employment verification, reference checks, educational qualifications verification, and criminal record checks where applicable.
