The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:
Grade 12 graduate or equivalent of required
Successful completion of a Post Secondary Program preferred
Skill, Ability and Experience:
Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
Ability to meet the physical demands of this job required
Minimum 1 year recent experience of cleaning in Healthcare preferred
Minimum 1 year recent experience of cleaning in a Commercial or Food Service setting preferred
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment preferred
Principal Duties:
Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the hospital utilizing a variety of housekeeping equipment and cleaning chemicals
Recognize the cause and material of soiling and spots, and remove them with use of proper chemicals
Project cleaning of vents, lights, ceilings, walls and interior and exterior windows
Observes and report the need for repairs on equipment, furniture, fixtures and building
Assist in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request
Long-term bed cleaning and discharge cleaning
Adherence to Infection Control Procedures
Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
Other related duties as assigned
Successful applicant will be considered a multisite employee
