Job Description
The Housekeeping Department is located in the “Back of House” area and incorporates a commercial laundry, various storage locations for cleaning equipment, cleaning products, guest room fixtures, equipment and amenities and housekeeping trolleys (used for daily services). Housekeepers work in all areas of the resort, with the priority focus on guest rooms and guests’ facilities.
Housekeepers at the resort are responsible for guest services which includes commercial and general cleaning/janitorial duties, across all areas of the resort, with the primary objective to provide a very high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel, guest rooms and the pool ablutions.
Due to very short timeframes available to clean guest rooms (from 10:00am to 2:00pm), the housekeeping team, need to be able to clean rooms efficiently, quickly and neatly to ensure our guests have access to their rooms by the required time frames.
Guest room cleaning schedules and protocols are based on either Check-Outs or Daily Services. The “Sunrise” or early shift performs thorough cleaning in the Facilities building (resort entry, reception, restaurant, lounge, back-office areas and guest toilets), with the focus on floors, wiping down surfaces and toilets. Special (Spring) cleaning projects are scheduled during the location season or when occupancy levels allow.
Our Housekeepers need to be well presented with a professional appearance (neat, tidy and clean in uniform provided, with long hair tied back at all times). They must be courteous to guests at all times and show respect to all hotel and room equipment, the property and use everything with care as to avoid unnecessary damage.
