Housekeeping amp Laundry Attendant

Basic Function:To ensure the cleaning and supplying of guest units and the comfort of all guests as set by the procedures and standards. This is an entry level position in the Housekeeping & Laundry Department.Role and Responsibilities:Major ResponsibilitiesGeneralExecutes all tasks assigned by his/her superiorsDemonstrates high degree of standards awareness; promotes teamwork and acts as a role modelAttends all scheduled training sessionsDisplays warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and internal customers; lives the Golden RuleDepartmentalCleans and stocks guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors and public areas as assigned and in accordance with hotel standards.Stocks and maintains the linen closet in a clean, neat and orderly fashion.Provides genuine hospitality and recognition in the work area. Promotes hotel services and products.Possesses a high degree of product knowledge and relevant technical skills. Keeps abreast of events in the hotel.Anticipates guest needs and takes ownership of guest concerns and requests; acts decisively to ensure guest satisfaction.Is knowledgeable about and handles chemicals safely and economically.Sorts, tags and processes guest laundry, uniforms and hotel linen; collects and delivers guest laundry.Is proficient in the safe handling of all relevant equipment and machinery; reports defects and accidents to management immediately.Offers a special service touch when an opportunity is presented.Specific Responsibilities and TasksGeneralAdheres to the hotel's code of conduct and grooming & hygiene standards.Is seen as working hands-on, assists colleagues during crunch times; walk the talk.Actively participates in briefings and meetings.Maintains a clean and orderly work area and promotes a safe working environment.Performs any additional duties as assigned.Able to interact with the guests and note down preferences.DepartmentalMakes beds, does thorough dusting and vacuums floors and self releases rooms as ''vacant inspected'; Removes room service dishes and amenity presentations to the service areaHandles "Do Not Disturb" Safety Latch and "Double Lock" rooms according to Hotel policyCarefully reads and follows the task sheet instructionsRemoves room service dishes and amenity presentations to the guest areas.Maintains pars established in all guest rooms for linen and suppliesTransports linen from Laundry to the Housekeeping pantry areas.
