Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Assistant is responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and order throughout the facility. This role involves cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining designated areas, providing excellent service to guests or residents, and supporting the overall operations of the housekeeping department.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning Duties:
Clean, dust, polish, and vacuum rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas.
Change linens, make beds, and replace towels and amenities in guest rooms or assigned areas.
Sweep, mop, and polish floors.
Sanitization:
Disinfect surfaces, including bathrooms, countertops, door handles, and light switches.
Follow established protocols for handling and disposing of waste.
Maintenance and Organization:
Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning products.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
Guest/Resident Interaction:
Greet guests or residents in a friendly and courteous manner.
Respond promptly to requests for housekeeping services.
Ensure confidentiality and respect privacy when cleaning occupied rooms.
Team Collaboration:
Work effectively with other housekeeping staff and departments to ensure smooth operations.
Assist with special projects and deep cleaning tasks as needed.
Compliance and Safety:
Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and properly.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Experience: Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is an advantage but on-the-job training will be provided.
Skills:
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Good time-management skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
