Responsibilities
The Housekeeping Manager will assume primary responsibility for guest rooms, hallways, public areas, back of house cleaning and servicing of assigned areas
They will assist the Director of Housekeeping with overseeing housekeeping operations, monitoring housekeeping standards, and delivering an excellent Guest experience
They will hire, train, and supervise all housekeeping Internal Guests as well as plan and delegate work assignments
Organize personnel into housekeeping crews capable of cleaning all guest rooms and other appropriate spaces
Prepare for and oversee the interviewing, hiring, and training of all assigned personnel to accomplish assigned tasks
Develop and execute an inspection program to ensure the maintenance of guest room areas, room cleanliness, sanitation, and standards
Assist in meeting financial goals - budget preparation regarding funds required within the department for maintenance; manage wages and labor hours and departmental expenses
Evaluate and prepare Internal Guest performances and administer discipline in accordance with departmental and company policy
Respond to guest comments, requests, and complaints
Represent management at unemployment hearings, grievances, arbitrations, and discussions as needed
Inspect guest rooms, public areas and back of house to ensure they are up to brand standards
Monitor daily productivity of staff and follow-up when standards are not met
Work closely with Engineering to ensure all maintenance concerns are handled appropriately
Work closely with the Front Desk to ensure guests receive clean rooms in a timely manner
Prepare and inspect VIP rooms to ensure standards are maintained
Flexibility to work both AM and/or PM shifts as needed
Prepare morning/evening work assignments for direct reports
Prepare nightly Turndown assignments as needed

Qualifications:
• High School education or Equivalent. Continuing education in Hospitality Management preferred.
• Bilingual preferred
• Work varied shifts including AM, PM, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
• Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred
• Knowledgeable on safe use of chemicals utilized within the housekeeping department
• Knowledge of proper floor care equipment, usage of mechanical cleaning equipment such as but not limited to vacuum cleaners, extractors, blowers, etc.
• Ability to communicate using a telephone, radio or any other electronic device issued
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and guests
• Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions
