Position Overview
A Houseperson assures the cleanliness of Guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, elevator doors, mirrors, and public vending areas as well as assist Room Attendants in order to maintain high standards of quality. A Houseperson is responsible for stocking linen closets with amenities and supplies. A Houseperson utilizes vacuums, brooms, and/or mops in the hallways, stairwells, vending areas, and foyers to maintain a clean environment for Guests. The Associate may be expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.
Experience
Previous Guest Service experience is an asset-Not a requirement
Previous experience working in a Hotel-type setting is an asset-Not a requirement
Requirements
Required to provide a certificate proving completion of the Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers (e-course provided by the Ministry of Labour)
Must be available to work a variety of all shifts (Days, Evenings, Weekends, Long weekends, Holidays)
Must be able to complete a Criminal Background Check to the hotel’s satisfaction.
Stripping rooms of dirty laundry and garbage
Placing water bottles in all rooms
Physical Demands
Will be required to handle and move objects weighing up to 23 kilograms and push up to 23 kilograms over moderate to long distances using a cart
Must be able to bend, stoop, keel, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and inspection tasks.
