We are looking for a Housing Collections Officer to manage rent accounts for clients in temporary accommodation.
You will be the first point of contact for customers and colleagues, providing advice and assistance. You will also be helping our clients to establish and maintain reasonable payment plans in relation to ongoing rental liabilities and debts to avoid eviction or court action.
You will have experience of managing accounts, collecting debts and providing advice and assistance to customers and colleagues. Ideally, you will have experience of using rent collection systems and knowledge of housing finance arrangements for temporary accommodation.

You are a Teignbridge District Council fit if you:
• Have a good level of literacy and numeracy, with a minimum of A-Level standard or equivalent.
• Have relevant experience and an understanding of the job, or transferable skills and the aptitude to learn quickly.
• Have good attention to detail, are level-headed, and have a positive approach to your work
• A general knowledge and interest across all aspects of IT, with a willingness to evolve these skills to improve the customer’s experience.
• With excellent communication skills, you will be confident working with a wide variety of stakeholders, as you share information and advice with others.
• Team player with a ‘better together’ ethos, able to actively listen to colleagues, respect and contribute to ideas, and aim to continuously improve the way we work together.
