Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated manager to lead our primary care, community nursing, public health, specialist services, health promotion, and home‑based support teams.

As part of our Executive Leadership Team, you’ll shape high‑quality, culturally grounded services that support positive health outcomes for whānau across the rohe. The role blends strategic planning with hands‑on operational leadership, working closely with team leaders to ensure care is coordinated, responsive, and aligned with kaupapa Māori values.

A relevant clinical qualification (NZ registration preferred)
Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe practice
Significant clinical experience, ideally in rural or community settings
Proven leadership in health services
Strength in communication, relationships, service planning, and quality improvement
Confidence using data and managing budgets
A full NZ driver’S licence
Postgraduate study in a relevant field (or willingness to work toward one)

CONTRACTS AND REPORTING LEAD
We are looking for a Contracts & Reporting Lead who will play a critical role in securing, managing, and optimising the funding and contractual foundations that support our mahi. You will be the organisational hub for all contract activity — from negotiation and compliance through to performance reporting and revenue optimisation. You’ll ensure our agreements are strong, our obligations are met, and our funding is protected and maximised. You will also lead the identification and pursuit of new funding opportunities, helping us grow, innovate, and continue delivering essential health and social services across the Hokianga.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a central register of all contracts and track key obligations, milestones, and renewals
Monitor contract performance to ensure accurate revenue capture and reporting
Lead internal and external reporting requirements
Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including drafting proposals
Manage procurement processes, RFPs, and vendor/subcontractor agreements
Support negotiation, execution, and lifecycle management of all service and supply contracts
Provide financial insights, identify risks, and support costing analysis
Ideal Candidates will bring:

Strong contract management and reporting experience
Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills
Ability to navigate complex agreements and drive continuous improvement
Understanding of funding environments in health or social services (advantageous)
A proactive, solutions‑focused approach
A high degree of computer literacy, particularly MS Office

NURSING OPPORTUNITIES
Registered Nurse: support a diverse range of patients across accident and emergency, acute inpatient, and hospital level residential care across a 24/7 shift roster.

Community Health Nurse: undertake a wide range of nursing duties in our rural community including district nursing, public health nursing, practice nursing, well child nursing and palliative care.

Nurse Practitioner: demonstrate nursing leadership and provide clinical advice, care, and education. Place whānau at the centre of care, exploring health and wellbeing concerns, preferences, health behaviours, attitudes and priorities using a Kaupapa Māori strengths-based approach.

Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years’ experience, however applications are welcome from new graduates. Previous experience in a rural setting or Māori health provider is desirable. You’ll need a current drivers license and practicing certificate, with the ability to pass a police background check.
