During this time our company has evolved and delivers ever better customer service and drive quality to industry leading levels. SQS now have a workforce of over 500 members. The company operates across the whole of London and the South East of England from our head office in North London.

We are now looking for a HR Advisor to join our busy team.

Overall, Purpose of the Job

To work closely with an agreed number of functional areas, providing a proactive, commercial practical HR advice and guidance service. This includes all aspects of an employee’s life cycle including Recruitment, Onboarding, Disciplinary, Grievance, Absence and Performance Management and all other aspects of HR policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment

Work with Line Managers to manage an end-to-end recruitment process, activities will include:

Preparing a business case for role recruitment

Ensure all job descriptions are relevant and up to date

Create job adverts for internal and external use, including social media

Brief Recruitment providers and act as point of contract

Conduct initial screening of applications received and liaise with managers and recruiters to schedule recruitment activity

Conduct interviews with Line Managers

Manage outcomes from interviews; offers, rejections

Prepare employment contracts and welcome packs

Ensure references are managed in line with legislation and company practice

Arrange and implement the Onboarding programme delivering aspects as required

Liaise with IT to set up new employee accounts, request required equipment

Support recruitment of Apprentices and Trainees

Onboarding

Ensure all new starters have an onboarding plan in place and are fully inducted into their role

Ensure new starter documents are processed and filed including relevant info supplied to Payroll within the defined timeline

Training, Development and Performance Management

Equip the Line Managers to undertake an effective performance review process

Proactively support Managers to manage the probation process

Provide support and guidance to Managers on individual/team performance management issues

Advice and guide on Personal Development plans on required basis

Deliver training sessions for relevant activity as required

Employee Relations

Confidently handle employee relations matters

Advice and guide Managers to manage disciplinary and grievance procedures, absence management, and all other people polices relevant to their line management activity

Conduct investigations and own the documentation related to such activities

Provide support and guidance to Managers on redundancy issues including documentation and process

Support the maintenance of HR policies including development of new policies required as a result of legislation changes

Provide support to strategic initiatives and major projects on needs basis

HR Performance Metrics

Produce, analyse and agree action plan for monthly HR statistics (e.g. Labour Turnover, Absence, Discipline & Grievance, ET’s etc)

Pro-actively identify people issues and or trends which affect business performance. Work with Managers to formulate and implement solutions.

Other

Manage the day-to-day implementation of Occupational Health and D&A testing requirements as appropriate

Support the consistent implementation and application of all existing and any new HR Policy, procedures and processes

Ensure all activities comply with organisational and legal requirements under employment law, health and safety and general duty of care.

Undertake any other tasks, duties, and ad hoc HR projects as required of the role
