Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) is looking for a Part Time HR Advisor to play a pivotal role in shaping and driving its People Strategy.
Together we are making a difference for kids living with genetic disease.
CMRI was Australia’s first dedicated paediatric research facility and is now one of the world’s most highly regarded independent medical research organisations. Our research focuses on the four key areas impacting children’s health: cancer, genomics and genetic diseases, neurobiology, and embryology.

As a key member of our People Team, the HR Advisor plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving our People Strategy. You'll be at the heart of creating efficient, consistent, and aligned HR processes that span the entire employee lifecycle. From recruitment and onboarding to performance reviews and learning & development, you'll ensure every touchpoint is seamless and impactful. You'll collaborate closely with our HR team and business leaders to deliver innovative programs and experiences that truly add value. Enhance Experiences: Streamline processes to boost efficiency and scalability for employees and leaders
Project Coordination: Lead and communicate throughout process, policy, and program enhancements
Guidance & Support: Advise leaders and employees on policies, procedures, and systems
Recruitment Coordination: Manage end-to-end recruitment, from advertising to offer processes
Onboarding: Support the development and delivery of the CMRI Onboarding Program
WHS & Injury Management: Ensure effective workers' compensation and injury management
Record Governance: Maintain and audit employee records for accuracy
Compliance: Oversee compliance with statutory requirements (WGEA, Privacy, EEO, etc.)
Remuneration Review: Administer the annual remuneration review program
Benefits Program: Review and recommend improvements for the benefits program

What can you bring to this role?
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar HR role
Solid experience with HR information systems and a strong capability of troubleshooting and optimising tech solutions
Proactive, strong communicator, willing to learn
A love of solving problem and exceptional attention to details
Sound knowledge of Australian employment law
Solid understanding of the Fair Work Act and Modern Awards
