About the position
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for preparing and processing various employment and insurance/benefit documents, worksheets, letters, forms, and correspondence related to the overall human resources function. This role may involve receiving applications, interviewing applicants, processing referrals, and onboarding applicants for employment. The assistant will review data for accuracy, completeness, and clarity, and will input data using a VDT/PC and various system applications/software/hardware. The position requires reliability, neatness, competence, knowledge, and application of policies and practices, and the individual should be well-groomed, courteous, and friendly in an applicant/associate and service-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
• Place emphasis on recruiting and attend job fairs.

• Set up employment booths and follow up with facilities during peak hiring seasons to ensure recruiting information is displayed.

• Process new hire paperwork and ensure accuracy.
,
• Receive applications, interview applicants, process referrals, and onboard applicants for employment.

• Prepare and process personnel requests and PAS.
,
• Complete a variety of documents related to HR programs.
,
• Take necessary action to correct payroll discrepancies.
,
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Completion of high school or the equivalent.
,
• Six months experience in personnel/human resources is required.
,
• Ability, knowledge, and skill to operate/use the appropriate systems/software/hardware.
,
• Typing speed of 50 wpm.
,
• Must complete the Health Insurance and Portability Accountability Act of 1996 training within three months of occupying the position.
