Responsibilities
The Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for uniting our business strategy of supporting the health of our dairy cows across America with our people by championing our creative, collaborative, and efficient teams
This role is responsible for developing, leading, and executing HR across the organization including policies, processes, initiatives, activities, partnerships, and staff
HR-related duties include but are not limited to, organizational development, talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, recruiting, benefits, compensation, payroll, training & development, retention & engagement, health and safety, performance management, and other aspects of the employee life cycle
This role plays a vital purpose to our business, team, and customer by leading a supportive, informative, and effective human resources team and piloting company culture
Oversee and actively engage with the team on the execution of human resource programs, policies, and processes
Improve manager and employee performance by actively building relationships with all levels of the workforce to help anticipate, identify, and resolve problems or potential risks
Collaborate with leadership to understand the organization's short and long-term strategy in order to prioritize, prepare, recommend, and execute HR goals and objectives while ensuring that projects and service commitments, deadlines, and budgets are met or exceeded
Lead strategy to drive employee engagement and retention, team building, recognition, and company communications
Conduct employee investigations and support leaders with employee disciplinary meetings and terminations
Regularly evaluate and assess HR function to proactively identify solutions, standardize workflow to improve efficiency, and ensure effective utilization of resources
Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends and best practices to ensure best practices are in place as well as focusing on continuous improvement throughout HR-function and management of teams across the company
Regularly monitor the company and stay current in knowledge, understanding, and awareness of federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations
Responsible for ensuring employees are performing based on company standards and providing training, guidance, and continual feedback to develop employee skills and provide consistent feedback on both positive and negative performance
Participate in the hiring, discipline, and employment exit process for employees as required
Lead by example, mentor, and train workers in all areas including communication, conflict management, and resolution
Facilitate employee scheduling changes and time off, as needed
Support the development and implementation of departmental planning, forecasting, and budget while ensuring ongoing reporting to key financial targets and re-alignment when necessary
Define, track, and regularly report on KPIs for the success of the team and initiatives
Consistently exemplify our core values when interacting with internal or external stakeholders
Participate in a productive and supportive work environment by actively participating in meetings, providing support and guidance to leaders and management, communicating effectively and professionally, and cooperating with all team members throughout all functions

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• SHRM-CP or PHR required; SHRM-SCP or SPHR highly preferred.
