Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Human Resources Manager and provide direct support to managers and employees across multiple DCI entities in Whitehorse, British Columbia and Alberta.
They will be primarily supporting our Castle Rock Enterprises (construction) and Northerm Windows & Doors (manufacturing/assembly/construction) divisions, which are both based in Whitehorse.
This will be a hybrid role with at least 2 days on-site at each company every week, as well as time working in DCI’s downtown Whitehorse office or from home. The role requires a vehicle in order to travel to and between locations.
Relocation assistance is available to the successful candidate.
Core Accountabilities:
· Employee Relations Support to Managers and Employees (primary contact for all employee inquiries) – performance management, discipline, conflict resolution, etc.
· Recruitment for all non-management positions.
· Yukon Nominee, co-op and internship program management.
· HR program execution and support (i.e. annual performance appraisals, recognition awards, job description development, compensation, etc.).
· Contribute to policy and program development.
· Participate in workplace investigations.
· Benefit plan administration.
· Employment confirmation letters.
· HR information & reporting – dashboard, metrics, etc.
· BambooHR Administration.
· Miscellaneous Projects and other duties as required.
Requirements:
· Post-secondary degree / diploma or recognized equivalent in Human Resources or similar.
· Minimum of three years of experience in a professional environment performing similar HR work, especially recruitment and employee relations.
· Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
· Perceptive listening skills.
· Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
· Effective time management and organizational skills; can balance multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
· Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment.
· A collaborator, able to build and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Enjoys coming to work and contributes to an effective, efficient team while also having fun.
· Reliable vehicle.
