Responsibilities
Reports to: VP of HR + President
In this role, you will support the human resources department by performing a variety of HR-related tasks, such as recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and general HR administration
In addition, you will be providing backup assistance for basic accounting functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and receivable
Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in the recruitment process by posting job ads, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, and facilitating the onboarding of new hires
Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on policies and procedures, and helping to resolve workplace issues in alignment with company values
Benefits Administration: Assist with benefits enrollment, answer questions related to employee benefits, and work with benefit providers to resolve issues
HR Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
Ensure HR records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant
Performance Management: Support the performance review process by helping managers and employees understand and complete evaluations
Assist in creating performance improvement plans if needed
Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing by collecting employee data, tracking attendance, and managing leave balances
HR Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain various HR-related reports such as headcount, turnover, and other metrics
Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and records
Training & Development: Coordinate employee training and development programs and ensure compliance with training requirements
Policy & Procedure Management: Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
Ensure all employees are aware of and understand these policies
General HR Support: Provide administrative support for various HR projects and initiatives as needed
Accounting Backup Duties:
Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring employee data is accurate and up-to-date
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Provide backup support for the accounting team, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and managing incoming receivables
Bank Reconciliation: Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and financial reporting as needed
Expense Reporting: Review employee expense reports and ensure proper documentation and approvals
Basic Bookkeeping: Support the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing invoices, and processing payments

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized HR Generalist/Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will support the human resources department by performing a variety of HR-related tasks, such as recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and general HR administration. Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• 2-4 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Administrator role with some exposure to accounting functions
• Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Preferred Skills:
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is a plus
• Experience with payroll processing and accounting software is an advantage
• Experience with benefits administration
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or specialty chemicals industry is advantageous
