FlexStaff is hiring a self-motivated and driven Human Resources Manager for our client in New York City. As the Human Resource Manager for 90+ employees, you must have strong organizational and time management skills. In this role, you will report to the Executive Director
in the NYC office. Hybrid work schedule three days in the office two days at home. That is subject to change.
Key Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related discipline
• 2+ years of experience in the field of Human Resources
• Payroll, recruitment and performance management experience is highly preferred
• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred.
• HRIS experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Responsibilites
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT:
• Develop and implement performance management systems aligned with firm goals.
• Set clear, measurable performance metrics for attorneys and staff.
• Oversee and facilitate performance evaluations and feedback processes.
• Provide training on effective performance management techniques.
• Foster a culture of continuous feedback and communication.
• Address performance issues and guide disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in performance practices.
• Monitor and improve performance management processes regularly.
• Collaborate on talent management and professional development.
• Analyze performance data and report trends to leadership.
• Support diversity and inclusion in performance evaluations.
Recruiting
• Partner with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and develop a recruiting strategy.
• Review/update job descriptions with hiring managers
• Post positions, review resumes and conduct initial screenings with candidates
• Refer candidates to hiring managers and coordinate/schedule interviews
Payroll Processing
• End-to-end payroll process which includes accurate calculations, deductions, record-keeping, and issue resolution
• Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
• Submit funding files to 3rd party vendors
• Process terminations and final pay in accordance with local laws and regulations
• Generate and distribute payroll reports to Finance
• Ensure compliance with company policies, state and federal regulations and tax laws
Benefits Administration
• Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) plans and other voluntary deductions.
• Responds to benefits inquiries from employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
• Conduct benefits orientation for new employees
• Ensure accurate and timely enrollment and changes to benefit plans
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and ensure smooth administration
• Manage the onboarding process and host new hire orientation for new employees
• Leave Administration. Process paperwork such as FMLA absence, disability, employee life status changes, etc.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g. location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $125000.00-$150000.00/year
