The Customer Support Centre coordinates the transport of patients between hospitals, from hospital to home and from home to outpatient appointments with a focus on streamlining transport to improve patient access and provide reliable service delivery. NPT employs more than +00 qualified staff and has a fleet of over 200 vehicles to provide services in NSW, Victoria, and Western Australia

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing accurate and timely HR advice, education, support and consultancy services to managers and staff members in delivering organisational objectives within NPT. This position will focus on managing all HR issues, policy development and communication, HR reporting, coordinating the performance management and remuneration processes, and supporting recruitment processes.

Major Responsibilities

Monitor HR compliance issues and assist in general HR administrative functions.

Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation

Manage direct report objectives, outcomes, performance, and professional development.

In consultation with the National Workplace and Employee Relations Manager provide an advisory service to line managers about HR management, workplace relations and policy and procedure matters.

Educate line managers about HR management, workplace relations and policy and procedure matters.

Lead, manage and assist in local and national project initiatives as required from time to time.

Establish a positive working relationship amongst all employees and promote a high level of engagement, morale, motivation, and capacity to implement change; and

Specific responsibilities

Provide a consultancy and advisory service to line management and staff on HR management issues including recruitment and selection, performance management, grievance and dispute resolution, internal policies and procedures, interpretation of relevant legislation and industrial agreements (including involvement in Enterprise Bargaining negotiations) and remuneration and benefits.

Assist management and staff in the investigation and resolution of escalated grievances and performance issues as required.

Provide HR related support to all managers and their respective depots on workplace related issues including ability to attend various depot sites in person as required.

Liaise with external industrial relations advisors, legal representatives and unions as required.

Coordinate regular meetings with Operations Coordinators to assist in further development opportunities.

Policy & Compliance

Review and develop HR policies and procedures eliminating any gaps.

Assist National Workplace and Employee Relations Manager with IR applications

Provide advice on the interpretation of relevant awards and legislation relevant to NPT employees.

Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of internal policies, guidelines, procedures, and processes which provide an effective, consistent, and timely delivery of HR services to NPT.

Assist in monitoring and ensuring organisational legislative compliance in relation to workplace practices.

Contribute to NPT’s workplace culture through the development, review and promotion of our values and staff engagement action plans.

Support the CEO in achieving strategic success through development and management of the Human Resources functional plan.

Lead and manage the provision and analysis of reporting requirements to develop innovative solutions and workplace initiatives

Manage the development and application of an appropriate performance management system and provide on-going support to line management and staff.

Quality and compliance of HR documentation.

Qualifications, knowledge & Experience Requirements

Diploma in Human Resources Management or a related discipline (or working towards).

Demonstrated experience and skills in a management/leadership

Demonstrated ability to establish productive partnerships

Pragmatic, solution orientated and energetic.

Excellent oral, written communication, mediation, facilitation, and negotiation.

Personal initiative and attention to detail and a high level of organisational, planning and time management skills.

Ability to work autonomously within a complex, fast-paced and challenging environment.

Experience working within a unionised workforce.

Knowledge and experience of healthcare will be highly regarded.
