Human Resources Officer
The Human Resources Officer will assist the Human Resources Manager (HRM) with a diverse range of HR functions to support the organisation to meet its strategic goals. The role is both employee-facing and admin-based. Duties include but are not limited to:
End-to-end recruitment - onboarding and induction, employment-related letters and contract preparation, Performance Review processing, HR Information System (ELMO) processing, records management, compliance checks, and exiting procedures
Award Review and Interpretation including providing HR related advice to team members
Learning and development – maintaining and reporting on Professional development and training requests; maintaining a Training Register
Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) – assist with coordinating WHS structures and associated activities such as staff wellbeing, training, administration, incident reporting, WHS inspections
EEO and anti-discrimination – contribute to initiatives and training to promote equity and anti-discrimination and ensure compliance with legislation
Compliance and reporting – assist the HRM to prepare regular HR and WHS statistics and reports

What you will need to apply:
Our ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Human Resources and demonstrated experience in a supportive human resources role. To be considered for this position, candidates will also need to:
Have working knowledge of and experience in a broad range of HR functions and relevant legislation including Australian employment laws, Fair Work Act and regulations and Modern Awards
Model the highest standards of ethical behaviour, act with professionalism, and manage confidential situations appropriately
Manage varying workloads and priorities while maintaining high attention to detail
Be able to tailor communication, clearly explain issues, actively listen, write clearly and fluently
Work collaboratively and with empathy, and have a ‘can-do’ attitude to provide customer-focused, values-driven services
Have demonstrated computer literacy, including experience with HR Information systems and Microsoft Office
Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
Have permanent or temporary work rights in Australia with no restrictions
And while not essential, experience working for a NFP/Charity or similar community service would be highly regarded
