Job Description
You will be responsible for providing support to ensure all work is safe and efficient, and that GTS always provides quality maintenance, commissioning and fault finding services on HV equipment. You will be required to supervise a team of technicians to complete day to day site works.
The successful candidate will be highly capable and organised and be able to perform the following duties which include but are not limited to:
Planning, scheduling and coordinating teams performing commissioning, testing, maintenance and repairs to the following high voltage and low voltage assets:
High/med/low voltage circuit breakers (oil, vacuum, gas)
Power transformers
High/med/low voltage switchboards
High voltage transmission and distribution equipment
Outdoor substation equipment (CT's, VT's, disconnectors, CB's etc.)
Power generators and motors
Protection relays
High/med voltage cables
Substation earth systems
Battery systems
Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all OHSE requirements
Maintain and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders
Accurately estimate project costs
Ensure all work is done on time, within budget and to a high degree of quality
Visit remote sites in preparation/planning for work
Complete reports on work carried out and findings within agreed time frames
Be actively involved in the jobs from time to time
Supervise/mentor younger/less skilled employees
Skills and Experiences:
Current WA full Electrical license or eligibility to join as a Professional at Engineers Australia
Minimum 5 years in the electrical industry
Minimum 5 years experience supervising tradesmen and apprentices
Must be legally able to work in Australia
Manual Drivers license
Schedule 26 Electrical Supervisor requirements
Shutdown experience on a BHP site highly regarded
A strong commitment to OHSE in the workplace
Previous supervisory experience in the industry
Experience in the maintenance of HV assets
Ability to manage and review job costings and understand the financial impacts of operational decisions
Ability to handle a fast paced busy schedule
High communication skills with an ability to establish good client relationships
Strong work ethic
