HVAC Estimating Specialist
Location: Houston, TX
Pay: $80,000 - $120,000 DOE
Reports to: Preconstruction/Estimating Leadership
We are excited to welcome a motivated HVAC Estimating Specialist to our team, bringing innovative estimating experience in mechanical construction. Join a well-established contractor in Houston with over 20 years in providing exceptional HVAC, refrigeration, chilled water, controls, sheet metal, and full lifecycle mechanical services across various sectors such as commercial, healthcare, industrial, hospitality, and institutional projects.
Your Responsibilities
• Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for HVAC and mechanical scopes.
• Thoroughly review plans/specifications related to ductwork, piping, equipment, controls, insulation, and balancing scopes.
• Prepare comprehensive bid packages for new construction and remodel contracts ranging from $100K to over $4M.
• Solicit and analyze pricing from subcontractors and vendors.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities that safeguard margins.
• Collaborate with leadership to refine pricing assumptions and leverage historical data.
What We Seek
• 3-5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and mechanical details proficiently.
• Familiarity with essential HVAC equipment, including chillers, rooftop units, pumps, VAV/controls, and piping systems.
• Strong analytical skills, well-organized documentation, and proficiency in estimating software.
• Coachable, detail-oriented, and team-focused individuals are highly desirable.
