Responsibilities

The HVAC Helper will assist the HVAC technicians in the completion of preventive maintenance for HVAC equipment throughout the District facilities

This incumbents work is performed under direct and close supervision

Change filters in HVAC units, reset air handler units

Check Level I HVAC equipment specifications such as tightness of belts, temperature of motors, cleanliness of ducting and other performance indicators

Use small hand tools such as screwdrivers, socket sets, pliers, and wire cutters, etc

to perform routine preventive maintenance

Load materials, tool and equipment on trucks; carry tools and equipment to and from work sites

Safety and Administrative

Complete paperwork required to report on equipment condition and maintenance status

Keep the work area clean and orderly ensuring all safety precautions, regulations and equipment are utilized properly

Perform assigned on-the-job training tasks

Job Overview
