Summary

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the provision of building operations, maintenance and repairs in assigned facilities. This job works on a wide variety of assigned tasks under the direction of the Maintenance Team Leader.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out the day-to-day execution of operations and maintenance programs to ensure uninterrupted tenant operations and that asset integrity is maintained either directly or via building automation systems

Trouble shoot, analyze and determine the root cause of equipment and building problems

To perform corrective maintenance and repairs within scope of key trade designation

Respond to service request and demand maintenance; record data and ensure completed work meets quality and response requirements

Develop and implement preventative maintenance (PM) programs to increase efficiency of building operations

Receive, track, monitor and report status of maintenance and repair work. Initiates documents to authorize or obtain formal approval of work required

Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, and fire protection

Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-out as required

Represent CBRE in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations

Other duties as assigned.

Education, Job-Related Years Of Experience & Qualifications

High school completion plus a specialized technical or business course

Job-related experience - More than three years up to five years

Knowledge & Skills

Requires minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience as certified / Journeyman Refrigeration Technician

Self motivated, willing to learn

Work well independently and be a team player

Consistently present and maintain a positive and professional image

Good writing and verbal communicationskills

Excellent interpersonal relationship skills

Awareness of Environment, Health & Safety Issues

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Provincially licensed in one of the following trades or holds a Competency Card (Quebec); HVAC, Refrigeration

Must meet Enhanced security clearance requirements

Valid drivers license (as required)

The successful candidate will be required to attain and maintain a valid and active RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance (ERSC). Please note, a condition for attaining an Enhanced Reliability Security (ERS) clearance includes the condition that applicants must have lived in Canada a minimum of five years to apply for ERS.

This is a unionized role with the BCGEU governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is a 35 hour per week position and the rate of pay for this role is $45.7+/hour. This position is eligible for participation in the Public Service Pension Plan and Extended Health and Dental benefits after 6 months of service.
