Hydraulic Technician

Reliable Equipment Rentals Ltd. provides aerial equipment rentals and services to valued customers throughout southwestern British Columbia.

We are looking to an experienced Hydraulic Technician to perform skilled tasks in the hydraulic repair and maintenance on various types of high-reach equipment. Other tasks may include installing hydraulic components. perform inspections and preventive maintenance, and designing, developing, and testing equipment.

Monday to Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM

$35.00 to $50.00 per hour depending on experience, skills, and qualifications

Responsibilities and Duties:

Disassemble and rebuild various hydraulic components (i.e. cylinders, pumps, valves, gearboxes, and manifolds etc.)

Perform hydraulic repairs on aerial lift equipment in the shop.

Inspect, analyze, and troubleshoot various hydraulic systems on aerial life equipment.

Test and interpret results to make effective recommendations to repair faulty equipment.

Collaborate with Heavy-Duty Equipment and Diesel Technicians in servicing and maintaining equipment.

Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical systems, including schematics and diagnostics

Ability to work independently in a busy environment

Ability to prioritize work assignments

Experience with routine maintenance operations

Highly flexible, strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively in a diverse working environment

Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Able to work well under pressure

Strong attention to detail

Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

Computer literate

Ability to be precise with measurements

Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments

Attention to safety measures must be a priority

Reliable transportation to and from work

Experience, Training, Certification and Education:

2 years of hydraulic experience in Heavy-Duty Equipment industry

Machining experience an asset

Must have a basic mechanics' tool set (minimum)
