Commercial Banking ("CB"), one of JPMorgan Chase & Co's four lines of businesses, provides comprehensive financial solutions, including investment banking, lending, wholesale payments and asset management products. Through a network of 172 offices and approximately (8,000) employees, CB serves over 18,000 clients globally, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions and not-for-profit entities, with annual revenue generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion, and over 34,000 real estate clients, owners and investors.
The Commercial Banking - Investment Banking ("CB-IB") Partnership team is responsible for developing strategy, driving initiatives, reporting performance and delivering insights that generate investment banking fees from CB clients. The team partners closely with Strategy & Business Management ("S&BM") teams across Investment Banking, CB regional and industry groups and CB senior management, along with other key product and functional partners across the firm.
The CB-IB Partnership Associate will support ongoing key initiatives, projects and reporting both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter, with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities -
Synthesize information and prepare presentation materials to be shared with senior management, coverage groups, product groups and other relevant stakeholders
Perform strategic analysis that will drive senior management decision making and coordination across the firm
Perform extensive research on addressable market opportunities using proprietary and third-party data, including research on specific companies, products, regions and industries
Assist with the development and execution of key monthly and quarterly reporting to be leveraged by senior managers within the Commercial Bank and across the firm
Address ad hoc requests and perform data analysis to support business groups and partners
Identify areas for continued process improvement and enhance efficiencies by generating and executing on innovative ideas and solutions
Required Qualification, Skills and capabilities -
Proficient with MS Office suite including expertise in Excel and PowerPoint, adept in SQL
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical ability: able to think-through and outline work processes in a thoughtful and detailed manner
Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to develop and communicate strategic recommendations
Impeccable attention to detail
Able to prioritize issues and multi-task effectively to handle multiple assignments
Able to be proactive in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure
Able to quickly and effectively respond to rapidly changing business needs and urgent requests
Team player capable of working collaboratively and developing strong partnerships
Proactively seeks guidance, clarification, and feedback from others
Above all, willingness to learn driven by natural intellectual curiosity with a genuine interest in knowledge gathering, problem solving and business improvement
Over 8 years of work experience
Knowledge of Commercial Banking and Investment Banking
Banking, Finance, business management and/or project management experience
Familiarity with internal J.P. Morgan wholesale banking systems (e.g. iBanker, Client Central, CKC) preferred
Familiarity with key 3rd party data tools (e.g. Dealogic, FactSet) is a plus
Technical skills such as familiarity with Sql required, knowledge of Python & Alteryx is a plus
BA/BS degree is required, MBA/MS and professional degree preferred
