At FASNY — the only school in the New York metropolitan area accredited to offer both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and the French Baccalaureate — you will deliver rigorous, engaging instruction within a truly multicultural community of over 700 students representing more than 50 nationalities. RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with IB Mathematics curriculum standards, incorporating modern instructional technology and diverse teaching strategies.
Deliver engaging instruction and facilitate interactive classroom activities across core mathematical topics including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, and related fields.
Develop assessments — including quizzes, tests, and projects — to evaluate student understanding and progress; prepare students for IB internal and external examinations.
Provide personalized support and academic guidance to meet students' individual learning needs and help them reach their academic goals.
Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that fosters strong student relationships and a love of learning.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and assessment tools; participate in professional development to stay current with IB and educational best practices.
Maintain regular, open communication with students, parents, and academic coordinators.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Education, or a related field preferred.
IB teaching authorization or proven experience with the IB Diploma Programme strongly preferred.
Demonstrated classroom experience teaching secondary-level mathematics; private or international school experience is a plus.
Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment design tailored for diverse learners.
Proficiency with learning technology platforms and tools for interactive instruction.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate students and collaborate effectively with colleagues and families.
Commitment to multicultural education and the values of an international learning community.
French language proficiency is a plus, but not required.
