JOB DETAIL
The DB2-UDB-DB Administration position is responsible for maintaining and managing the DB2-UDB-DB database system.
The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for database design, implementation, performance tuning, monitoring, backup and recovery, security and support.
The DBA will be expected to have 4 to 6 years of database administration experience with DB2-UDB-DB.
The DBA should have knowledge of database design, query optimization, database replication, database security and backup, recovery and availability.
The DBA should also have experience with database optimization, system performance tuning, database backup and recovery, database security, database replication and database monitoring.
The DBA must have excellent problem solving skills and be able to troubleshoot and solve complex database issues.
The DBA must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
The DBA will be responsible for developing database strategies, designing database models, developing database structures, tuning database performance, designing and implementing backup and recovery strategies, designing and implementing security strategies, implementing database replication solutions, analyzing database performance and providing technical support.
The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the database system is secure, efficient and available.
The DBA should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
The DBA should have industry certifications such as MCSE, OCP or Oracle Certified Professional.
The DBA must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work in a team environment
