Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled IBM Optim Specialist responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing IBM Infosphere Optim solutions across enterprise systems. The role involves managing data archiving, test data management, and data privacy processes while ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. The specialist will work closely with DBAs, developers, QA teams, and compliance stakeholders to ensure secure and efficient handling of structured data.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM Infosphere Optim for data archiving, masking, and subsetting.
• Develop and manage data privacy and masking strategies to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Design and implement Test Data Management (TDM) solutions using Optim for development and QA teams.
• Identify sensitive data across applications and coordinate with DBAs and application teams to implement protection mechanisms.
• Create, manage, and validate data masking policies and masking rules.
• Execute Optim processes such as extract, subset, archive, and provision test data.
• Configure and manage data archiving workflows to support retention and retrieval requirements.
• Automate Optim tasks using shell scripting, command-line interfaces, and scheduling tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Optim performance and functionality.
• Prepare system documentation, SOPs, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Conduct user training sessions and provide ongoing support for Optim users.
Technical Skills
• Expertise in IBM Optim modules:
• Data Privacy, Test Data Management, Data Archiving, Data Masking
• Experience with Optim software installation, configuration, and administration.
• Strong SQL development and optimization skills.
• Hands-on experience with databases: Oracle, IBM DB2, SQL Server, SAP HANA, and other RDBMS platforms.
• Good understanding of database schemas, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of scripting (Shell) and job schedulers (e.g., Autosys, Cron, Control-M).
• Basic understanding of ETL tools such as IBM DataStage, Informatica, or Talend for Optim integration.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and data governance frameworks.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree: B.Tech, BE, BCA, MCA, M.Tech, or an equivalent technical qualification.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Infosphere Optim (any modules: Data Privacy, TDM, or Data Archiving).
• Strong experience with SQL and relational database platforms.
• Good knowledge of data masking principles and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in workflow automation using shell scripting and scheduler tools.
