Mō te tūnga | About the role

As a District Services Engineer you will be responsible for providing 24/7 field support across a wide range of critical Police infrastructure including radio, telephony and computer networks.

Supporting our digital and analogue radio networks is a critical component of this role and as such, skills and experience in maintaining radio infrastructure and radio console dispatch systems is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be required to regularly be on call as well as being available to travel away from home on an as needed basis to support the wider team.

Key Accountabilities:

Provide onsite technical support

Maintain the Police Radio Networks

Provide desktop computer support

Proactively identify ICT risks to service delivery

Coordinate contractor work and access

Contribute to successful delivery of ICT projects.

We’re looking for someone with a can do, customer first attitude, who while having extensive experience in maintaining land mobile radio networks, is also willing and able to also provide support across other ICT workstreams – computer, telephony etc.

Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements

This role covers the Tamaki Makaurau area and regular travel will be required.

Must have a recognised tertiary qualification in telecommunications/IT, OR relevant radio network experience.

Competent and qualified or willing to train for working at height.

Ideally be 4WD qualified with a full drivers licence.

Ideally hold a current Electrical Appliance Service Practicing License.

Prepared to be on call.

This role is set at Individual Contributor level , this means your key purpose is “to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business”.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,808 and $108,8+4 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
