The Role
As an ICT Strategic Advisor at the Department of Education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering on the department’s ICT and AI strategies, and innovation agenda. You will provide high-level written and oral advice on whole-of-government ICT initiatives to senior executives. You will also work closely with IT service providers to ensure solutions are robust, value for money, and future focused. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on how technology supports departmental outcomes, working with a small and dynamic team.
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Providing expert written and oral advice to senior executives on whole-of-government ICT initiatives, including digital transformation, cyber security, and emerging technologies.
Ensuring solutions algin with the department’s ICT strategy, roadmaps and investment plans.
Supporting the development and implementation of the department’s AI strategy and drive innovation initiatives.
Liaising with the department’s IT service provider on costings, solution design, cyber security, artificial intelligence, and legacy system uplift projects.
Coordinating information requests and liaise across-government, including with the DTA, Home Affairs, and Services Australia.
Leading and coordinating strategic ICT projects and innovation initiatives across the department.
Preparing high-quality briefings, reports, and presentations for senior management.
