Join our team in Palmerston North as the IDC Renewals Manager
Fulton Hogan is proud to have acquired the NZTA Integrated Delivery Contract (IDC) for Manawatū-Whanganui, taking responsibility for the majority of state highway maintenance and renewals across the region. The Renewals Manager will work closely with and report to the Contract Manager, taking responsibility for planning, scheduling, and delivering renewal, rehabs and reseal activities for the contractor. This role requires building strong relationships with Journey Management, Asset Management, Quality Management, Customer Co-ordination, and Contract Administration teams. You’ll also be expected to support various other tasks as required to contribute to the overall success of the contract.
In addition to the above you will:
Collaborate transparently with the Principal to develop, update, and align on the 3-year forward works plan
Optimise the sequencing of works to maximise delivery efficiency and minimise disruption across the network, recommending programme changes as needed
Attend contract management meetings to provide programme updates, declare delays, and submit candidate programmes for Principal approval
Engage collaboratively with the Principal and stakeholders in planning, design, and approvals; review designs for constructability and value-for-money, price final designs, and coordinate Renewal Quality Plans with the Quality Manager
Ensure all environmental Consents are identified, obtained, and maintained; oversee Environmental Management Plans, report any breaches, and support stakeholder engagement and operational queries

We’re looking for someone with:
Bachelor of Engineering (BE), NZ Certificate in Engineering (NZCE), or equivalent industry qualification/experience
At least five years’ experience in civil construction, infrastructure, or traffic management, with a proven record of safe, timely, high-quality project delivery
Proven team management and development abilities, including mentoring, improving engagement, and fostering a constructive team culture
Strong knowledge of departmental laws, guidelines, and operational processes for temporary traffic management or civil engineering, with the ability to interpret and apply organisational and legislative requirements
Safety-related certifications (e.g., STMS, ConstructSafe), and evidence of commitment to safety and risk/hazard management
Current class 1 driver’s licence
